pp108 : Using CUSP

Using CUSP

This topic describes the customization possible in the OpenText Process Suite Platform User Start Page.

The start page, known as CUSP, is an interactive and flexible interface that is automatically customized according to the artifacts that you most frequently use and that you last accessed before logging out. In addition to this, you can use the various features available in CUSP to work with Process Platform effectively.

Organizations menu

Process Platform can be configured and used in an intra-enterprise scenario. You can use Process Platform to model logical business units as Organizations. As an user you may be part of one or more organizations in Process Platform.

The Organizations menu lists the organizations that are available in the Process Platform application. It displays the current organization by default.

To switch to another organization, select an option from the Organizations drop-down list. CUSP is reloaded with artifacts from the selected organization.

Shortcut Bar

You can use the Shortcut Bar to create shortcuts to the applications or artifacts you use frequently. The Shortcut Bar scrolls into view when the mouse pointer is placed on it; it scrolls out of view on removing the mouse pointer. It is possible to remove the scrolling behavior. To fix the scroll bar, click .

The Shortcut Bar contains the CUSP Preferences shortcut by default. You can use it to set preferences for CUSP. For details, see Setting User Preferences.

Additionally, you can drag artifacts from an App Palette in CUSP to the Shortcut Bar to create a new shortcut. You can also use a URL to create a shortcut. For details, see Creating a Shortcut using a URL. To remove an artifact from the Shortcut Bar, right-click it and select Remove from this list.

Tag Cloud

It is possible to assign tags to artifacts in Process Platform. You can use the tags to group and access the artifacts you want. Besides the tags that you define, some system tags are also associated with each artifact.

The Tag Cloud feature enables filtering of artifacts based on tags. Clicking (Show Tags) on the title bar of an App Palette that contains artifacts, displays all the existing tags. Typically, tags that are associated with greater number of artifacts are highlighted and display in a bigger font size as compared to other tags.

  • To assign a tag to an artifact, place the mouse pointer over the artifact, select , type the new tag in the editable field that appears, and click Tag.
  • To view the artifacts associated with a tag, click on the title bar, and select the tag. You can repeat this procedure to select multiple tags and view the common artifacts associated with them.
  • To go back to the default display and view all artifacts, click for each selected tag in the tag-crumb that displays in the title bar. This cancels the respective tag selection; when all selected tags are canceled, the default view appears. Alternately, select in the title bar and select Clear Tag-Crumb to cancel all tags.

If you routinely use a selection of tags to view the artifacts of interest to you, you can consider creating an App Palette to display your favorite artifacts.

After sorting the artifacts by tags, you can use the URL of the combined selection of artifacts to directly access an App Palette in a different browser. You can thus share your sorted artifacts with other users.
